Fun Fact: Platypus may look pretty harmless when swimming, male platypuses can be very dangerous, especially during mating season. They have spurs on each of their hind legs that secretes venom. The venom is lethal, but there are no recorded deaths from it.

Diet: Platypuses are carnivorous, they eat meat but no plants. They diet on small water animals including insect larvae, freshwater shrimps, are crayfish.

Area Located: Platypuses can be found in eastern Australia, north Queensland, and in Tasmania. They are able to live in steamy tropics and freezing snows.
